Looking for advice on the best cleaning and polishing products for my RS4,
as well as a good supplier.
I'm using Zymol stuff at the moment and although the result is good I feel it could be better.

+1 Autoglym is awesome.
RE: Cleaning Products
Autoglym is ok, but you could take a step up TBH.
Visit 'Polished Bliss' website and review their products - AutoGlym's not even in sight. Prepare to spend alot of money though!!

only Autoglym product I use is there alloy/wheel cleaner, I use Meguiar's cleaning products.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Check out Detailing World, and then you will be confused

But seriously, it's the process that matters most and then it's a matter of preference. I use 3M products for the prep and Zaino for the finishing.
Autolglym SRP is great, and would follow it with the Autoglym liquid hardwax.

Swiss Wax products - so easy to use - bit pricey but fantatsic results.

Zaino System is good as well .. and I also have to say liked Zymol historically (its great on Silver/Grey cars)..
There are as many polish / clean systems as there are beer makes and we all like what we like and we all "ignore" what we dont like or have not tried (yet)
Personally I dont rate Autoglym for instance .. I Think its a horrible "over rated and over priced system pushed by dealers".. However I recognise and have no problems with others liking it
But yes as others have said .. be prepared to spend a lot
(maybe grumpy as I ache after having spent most of the day washing the 3 cars
)

Ex RS6 C6 Driver, gone but not forgotten.. The best car I have ever owned
Only had my motor a month, so only had any car worth cleaning a month!
Is Zymol the Coconut/Banana smelling green stuff? Seems okay so far.
AutoGlym detailing kit and simple turtle wax.
Once that's all gone, as results are good enough until I get the front end resprayed (chipped to hell) I'll them try out Maguires and Swiss Wax.

I've recently started using the Autoglym HD wax with the HD cleaner. Got the pair on eBay for about £30 (RRP must be £60+). When compared with c. £120 for the swissvax equivalent I thought it might be worth a go before going to whole hog. However, I can't see that I'd get better results than the auto glym stuff.
For swirl marks I've also Megs SwirlX on my Phantom Black RS4 in the past and it was excellent. Even on tough Audi paint.

Re: Cleaning Products
Hi there, all depends largely on Colour of your car, your budget, time/effort you wish to spend on cleaning/ detailing your car, ease of use, durability that your looking for, and your expectations of results and finish and if you are a weekend hobbyist looking for maybe a very good one step/ all-in-one that will deliver noticeable results in this one hit or you are looking for a more enthusiast multi-step routine with paint decomtamination/ paint cleanisng/ cleaning/polishing/pre-wax/ glaze/ sealant/ wax etc then steps to detail glass/trim/ wheels/ tyres/ arches etc etc.colb wrote:Looking for advice on the best cleaning and polishing products for my RS4,

So with all that said, what colour car do you have and what time/effort do you wish to put into cleaning and is durability/protection something you would choose over ultimate shine and show finish and happy to offer some info
