Audi warranty - is cost too high & should it be reduced

Post by Sims » Fri Mar 26, 2010 9:25 pm

There has been a lot of debate on this issue.

If there is sufficient interest here, we can make our representions to Audi for more reasonable pricing and comparable to BMW.

Open for discussion? :)

Sounds like a good idea to me - how can we promote your cause?

Excellent, this is joint cause and if we can get a few more people involved, we can get together a letter, agree it on here, and submit it to Audi.

Their dealer network loses servicing work if the cars are not under warranty, or owners opt for a 3rd party warranty.

interested...

our RS4 B5 has over 100k miles so so far havent found a warranty co. that will give me cover

S4 cab is coming in for renewal in June. After the carry on we have had with our cab in the past year with a dealer supplied warranty is just as well...

had replaced:

BOTH aux rads and 1 hose
drivers side door wiring loom ( broken wire in existing one... HOW????? )
rear drivers side tail light replaced because 1 of the securing clips was broken so the light unit moved about
front suspension drop links ( twice)
front suspension control arms just done at a cost of 494 quid on the warranty chit!
front discs and pads, passenger side disc warped so I paid for discs and pads THEN the chimp at the dealer warped them agin within a few MILES when sent out to bed then in!!!!
steering angle sensor
top bit of trim m issing from the windscreen so was replaced in bodyshop
a few bits of interior trim was replaced due to previous wear and tear

so appart from getting it s 50k mile service prior to collection and 500 quid off, in the past 10 months this car would have been returned to dealer IF it wasnt covered by a warranty and it has to be said its been a God send it had one in the first place so SERIOUSLY want it covered again come June when existing policy expires so having saved me thousands of pounds in hind sight.

Just want to get the RS covered with something.

Sounds good to me, but things would have to happen quick as mine runs out in a month

Hmmmmmmm I own an M3 and a RS6 and I find both parts and servicing for my M3 way dearer than my local audi dealers.

Amanda, how long have you had the '6 (C5 I assume) and which M3 is it?

Ahh, I see you've owned Audis before so you do have something to compare the Beemer to (other than 10 days of RS 6 ownership). Good luck with the C5 RS, I hope it's a gem.
