Admiral Multicar Insurance - Renewal Big Warning!!!

Post by dubbers » Mon Apr 06, 2009 1:24 pm

This has happened to me 3 years on the trot with Admiral Multicar.

Letters arrive in the post from Admiral for automatic "easy" renewal quoting a price, in my case for the three cars, £2292.54.

I went online to the Admiral website to get a comparative online multicar quote. However I found that you have to provide a fictitious name, as this system recognises the name in the printed quotation. All other details, address, cars and all other specifics are identical to the written quote.

The website the spits out a quote of £1257.70, thats a saving of £1034.84. I called Admiral up to discuss the online quote, as I preferred the lower price ;-) which after a very careful check by their advisor they wholly accepted.

So, if you have a multicar policy and want to ensure you are paying a fair and accurate price for your multicar insurance policy, it pays to spend some time on their web quote system to ensure you get a fair deal.

Agree, and it's not just with their Multicar. You can always get a significant saving by starting afresh online then getting it matched, and it often helps to run the same figures through Elephant (same parent company) as both will match each other...

Agreed,
Every year their renewal letter comes in more expensive every year (even though I've never made a claim in 22yrs of driving)
Go online and get a quote as a mystery neighbour, only to find its 20% cheaper, then suddenly they can match the new price. (F*ckin dirty robbin bastids)
Pays to do your homework every year.

Admiral aren't being honest in providing a competitive quote for an existing customer. Not sure what gives with this company, is it some kind of test for customer loyalty?

Have to do the same thing every year, and have made the same phonecall every year.

Another tip dealing with Admiral, etc is to phone before 2pm when they transfer the phones from the UK office to a Canadian callcentre, who are a lot less flexible in what they can do.

Well i have just moved from Chubb's masterplan insurance - all singing, all dancing anyone can drive your motor and they are insured. I found the multi car policy very competitve, just got both cars as below, 8yr no claims each for the wife and I, she has a 4/5yr old SP30 and SP60!, both cars parked on the street , both came all in @ £1018, with the Audi alone was just £482, a lot better than the £800+ quotes i got from brokers for each car.
