B7 RS4 Longlife service....robbed!

Post by sonny » Tue Dec 02, 2008 7:45 pm

Picked my car up today, dropped the Audi courtesy car off, bill came to 455 pounds, I had no additional work undertaken (apart from a faulty bonnet catch, but this was covered on warranty!

Does this seem expensive? As I was quoted around the 350 mark before I went in, with the vat I suppose this seems about right, so have I been robbed in broad day light in the Public eye?

Oh and btw I got a ltr of Oil for top up in the boot

have you got an itemized bill? Name and shame them. Mercedes Leeds charged my mum £139 for oil!! Then labour, filter and VAT. I was totally disgusted. I don't see the logic of ripping off a customer as surely its a better idea to charge them fairly and enjoy years of return custom than a one off rape!

well that was sue to the fact that the bonnet release catch had failed and the car had to stay in over night (Friday til Tuesday) as they did not have the parts, I ended up having an argument with them any way so i doubt they would of knocked it off for me lol

I know that it is only a small part of the bill but if the catch was repaired under warranty i.e. manufacturing defect I don't see why you should have to pay for the courtesy car any longer than the one day it took to service the car and if they had one, fit the new catch.

i know its no good saying it now, but you really shouldnt have paid 3 days for the courtesy car. These dealers are disgusting and will take you for every penny, but in my experience, whenever you kick up a fuss they'll back down. I had my RS 6 in for some warranty work and they gave me a diesel A4, on the paper work i signed it said i could only do 100 miles and anything over id have to pay. They had my car in for 5 days so i went up and down the M6 a few times and handed it back with 500 miles extra ! They didnt say anything, but if they had Id tell them where to go as they shouldnt have taken 5 days to do 1days work ! i hate dealers

Totally agree with you Dave, I only put m car in for a service originally, but I had a problem my bonnet release catch was not working (I believe it was broke by Audi who last had my car as I ha more warranty work done) and my car was away for 5 days in total...bloody disgusting, I wont be taking my car back there again, going to take it to a larger dealership at least somewhere where they will have basic parts!
