Bodyshop in SW London

Hi

I am based in SW London. Some clot drove into my parked RS4 but fortunately I was around to witness it.

I need to get a couple of quotes as I don't want to use the cheapo muppets (no doubt) that my insurance company want me to use.

So the default would be to use who ever Audi Wimbledon (my dealer) uses, but their bodyshop may not necessarily be the best.

Any recommendations?

thanks

Hi

You might want to try 'Fontain Audi' - Specialised Audi Dealer/ Servicing/ Repairs. Fontain.co.uk > There's a 'dealer/ showroom' near Wimbledon Audi.
They're quite impressive!

We had some bodywork done on our B4 cab a few years back by a small company that were a break away from Whites Audi. The bodywork repair and respray was excellent although the lense for the third brake light in the boot lid was cracked which it wasnt before it went in. A small blemish in what was overall a good job. We sold our car a few years ago and with it went all the paperwork. They are based in small industrial area sort of opposite the Golf course at Mitcham. If you have a local yellow pages you may be able to track them down. Sorry I cant be more helpful! Simon

Did you get anywhere with this?

I just had a bus run into my 18 month old RS4 B7.

I am insisting on Audi approved. They are telling me to use Rainbow Body shops in Slough but I am wondering what the situation would be and should I only go via an Audi garage ?

Thoughts?

make sure you get the body repair section in the back of your service book stamped by the repairers,as by doing this they are saying they have repaired it to Audi's specifications,otherwise you are voiding any warranties,i.e corrosion warranties etc.when my car was a few months old it had a fight with a badger,which resulted in some front end work needed,the repairs were inspected and the service book stamped;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Mip; insist on Audi approved bodyshops as b7rs4's front ends are alluminium, not all bodyshops realise this.

Some of the dealers have their own bodyshops and others have an approved independant, suggest you go by reputation/recommendation rather than anything else. I had some paintwork sorted by an Audi approved bodyshop under warranty on a noggy S4, shocking job nicely sprayed but in bright sunlight you could see all the scratches from the sanding in the paint. Looked like it had been polished with a brillo pad in an up/down pattern.

Do bear in mind that the car still has 18 months of the paint warranty left that could be deemed invalid if non approved body shop used but modern paints are a lot better than they used to be, they wouldn't give a warranty if it was going to be claimed against all the time.

Anyway for me reputation/quality wins everytime because I have to look at it every day.

Forgot to mention maybe worth asking some the car detailers for a recommendation as these guys really know about good paintwork..

Thanks guys.

I have been asking around at work, nobody really has a lot to offer anywhere local to me...

Guess I will try the local dealers...
