Tyres again!! Yokohama’s Parada Spec-2
Going to be getting some new tyres soon and I've been wondering if these would be any good. They look cool...

Or should I just stick with what I know, Goodyear F1 Asym's?

I thought the wisdom was to use Michelin PS2s at the moment. I put them on all around, and they appear to grip like geckos. Braking performance is increased, over the Yokohamas that were on there.

I personally don't like Michelin tyres but I have them on the front at the moment and they seem OK
In recent years if I've bought the tyres it's always been Goodyears...

Interesting question Mark, I currently have yoko's on my S4 and will be replacing them in the near future and considered these as I was told that they'll grip better but are not as hard wearing as my current tyres.
Their very reasonably priced as well at about £100 a corner IIRC

I've just had a price for F1 asyms and these in a 225/40 x 18 for ~£105 each fitted.
The thing I like about the F1's is the wet grip. I'm unsure if the Yoko's will be anywhere close in the wet

F1s are my favs, had them on all my vehicles since I found them years ago. Hard to beat as an all-round tyre IMO.
Yokos I would say are better in the dry BUT wet I wasn't very impressed with, and they wore down in half what the Goodyears did mileage wise (I used to keep a tally on tyres/oil/fuel for tax etc years ago). Basically they are a soft compound on the ones I had on my Civic VTI first of all.
Bridgestones are on par with the F1s (RE010's - only think they make them in restricted sizes? ) until they start to get part worn, then they find every rut in the road and tramline pretty badly IMO.
Also dont recommend the Star Performer range that came with my wheels, I may as well have put banana skins on them LOL.
Still, they should be coming off in the next week

I normally go for PS2s but I thought I might try the Ultrac Sessanta from Vredestein which won the Evo tyre test....they are also £80 cheaper per wheel than the PS2s !
Re: RE: Tyres again!! Yokohama’s Parada Spec-2
Have got the Sessanta's on my wifes A4. Very good IMO.jeffw wrote:I normally go for PS2s but I thought I might try the Ultrac Sessanta from Vredestein which won the Evo tyre test....they are also £80 cheaper per wheel than the PS2s !
I have run GSD3's for years and can't fault them in the wet and the dry.
I am running PS2's on my MTM's and they are as good, however as you stated at 80 quid a corner dearer I will be replacing them with the F1 Assy's.

I've just fitted a set of goodyear eagle f1 assy's, must say they seem very good in the wet , they were much cheaper than mitch ps2's . g

RE: Re: RE: Tyres again!! Yokohama’s Parada Spec-2
Was looking at them Vredesteins but they are "only" V rated rather than W that I see on most of the other tyres listed so far.
EDIT: Ignore me, thats some of their other tyres.
Should add they seem to get a thumbs up from Scooby owners from a quick search about. May have to try some out.
They say they wear quick, one owner done 10,000 miles in them and expects another 5,000 maybe...that to me sounds good, I normally see 6,000 out of Yokos and maybe 12,000 out of F1s.

paradas = awesome in the dry and dangerous in the wet. don't know how long they would last on a trackday though!

Yokos never favour the wet, which is a shame.

I used to run Rainsport2 on a seat cupra, FWD I know, but a good tyre in the dry as well. you would also be surprised at the weight of some tyres, considering the rotational weight makes such a difference. Toyo are very light tyres.
