John,
I find privilege cheap for me 33 and FNCB. My renewal ins expected to be around £600.
Privilege is backed by Direct Line and the service is superb. I have rung lately a few times to extend cover over courtesy cars and they have been courteous and the no charge. Auxiliary cert in the post next day...
Worth a call???

You could try Greenlight Insurance - I have just gone with them - unlimited track days (£65 each time though), very mod friendly.

Renewal just through from Norwich Union Club
Wait for it
£1339.07
An increase of 139.00 is this for real?
What says Jon Mr insurance man?
is this the trend at the moment?

No, don't think this is the trend.
Mine needs renewing in June, so got a quote on line from elephant (my current insurers) they only want £680 this year
For my standard S4, parked on the drive, me 26, 5 years NCB, on TS10 (4 years back now though)
I currently pay £1043, so well chuffed, but will probably shop around to see if I can find an insurer who cover me for track days too.

JR - strange, prices are starting to drop slightly at the moment, N-U are quite flexible usually, tell them you have had a quote slightly cheaper than last year, if you've been with them for a year or so they will usually match it, if they ask to see it I'll do you a bogus 1!

John,
Have you considered a tracker or Thatcham Cat 1 alarm? Might bring the prices of insurance down a little.
Mate of mine recently renewed and his insurance company (the AA) paid for him to have a tracker fitted to his M3.

In a insurance renewal situation at the moment, as discussion with DavidT and SiTaS3.
My renewal quote from directline is 847. I have an SP50 from 1998, 2 years no-claims on a company car scheme (accepted by direct-line) and 1 year with my S3, under my name.
I just telephone Greenlight (due to mod friendliness), they won't accept the 2 years from on the company car scheme.
Any other suggestions before I renew with directline. Are direct-line really against mods? Not got any at the moment, but thinking about it.
Cheers

AL, as indicated, try Barclaycard insurance - they offer to beat any quote/current premium and are mod friendly too.

Direct Line are not against mods - I was with them before I went to Greenlight and decalred my chip on ym car with no problems (small increase in premium thats all)
They demanded a tracker be fitted though

Cheers Dunc, Simon.
I fear my problem will be finding companies who accept the company car based no-claims. I had that problem when finding insurance in the first place.
Direct-line never demanded tracker to me. I even asked them about it, said it wouldn't affect my premimum even if I had one fitted. Strange eh?
