Basingstoke Audi

This dealer is part of the Colbornes group which also owns Camberley Audi which has a good reputation. I used to use them when they were part of the Martins group and I got very good service then. I have used Newbury Audi once, but decided to go back to Basingstoke for the last service. The service was good, but not excellent, and I was annoyed over a miscommunication about a part I needed ordering.

Anyway, said part came in and I took the car back to Basingstoke Audi to have it fitted. Details are here: http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... c&p=207317

The car was taken in on Thursday and I only just got it back on Monday evening. I do not believe that this was lack of competence by the tech, rather due to the nature of the problem (see the other post). Anyway I was obviously worried about exactly how many hours labour I was going to be charged for.

Well I don't know the hourly rate, but I was charged just £99.50 + VAT!

Excellent job and excellent service. Basingstoke Audi are well recommended.

BTW That makes the total charge for suppy and fit of a new instrument cluster £486.63 + VAT

Ahh good ol Basingstoke Audi...

This is where I bought my car. 36000 miles, supplied with MTM ECU and Miltek Exhaust.

I recorded the conversation I had with the sales rep clearly stating that there would not be an issue with the warranty in the event of a failure.

The week after I bought the car the dealer exchanged hands... same staff, same equipment, different site, different owners.

My turbos went pop in under 6 months/5000 miles. Basingstoke Audi wanted NOTHING to do wtih me. They would not help, they would not pay out, they did nothing. they were the most un-helpful bunch of fools.

At the very least I would have liked them to try and help me resolve the issue with the previous owner/help with my case with Audi UK.

Sorry to say I was not happy with my brief dealings with them.

Well, it would help if they actually called you back. I've only had about 30% of my calls to the service dept returned. It's getting to the point where I'm thinking of making a complaint about them to Audi UK, for what good it will do. Sigh.

It's completely different with the sales dept of course.

I agree with ZeroK66, when it was Martins Audi they were much better at their service (previous Audi), IMHO of course!

I must add that Martin's group (who own a lot of VW garages in the area) were a great help. I was able to speak regularly with the MD and he made me an offer as partial compensation... this man will be getting more of my business - he really showed how business should be run. A big thanks to the Martins group. A shame they no longer run the Audi dealership.

I know now never to deal with Audi again. I have said it many times, I will never buy another Audi... and I have convinced many against it already - so Audi UK lose on business as they dont look after their customers.

Leon, just goes to show how two different people can have two totally different experiences with Audi CS (guess this is going a little OT). When my turbos went west, Audi picked up the tab for their replacement. I bought the car privately but got an Audi warranty put on it by the previous owner teh day before I bought the car. The car was bought with the MTM chip and everything was accepted.

Anyway hats off to Basingstoke Audi...now back on topic!

Paul

My next door neighbour is the service Manager for Martins VW in Andover, and he thinks it is the best run network of dealerships he has come across. Customer Service is high on the agenda. They had a falling out with Audi which is why they are now no longer dealers but they are still service agents.

My experience says exactly that.
