Does anyone know if it's possible and what's involved to retro fit the ISOFIX (child's seat mounts) option to a S4 sedan?

Cheers.

Dont think its possible to retrofit ISOFIX on any car sorry mate. I know we couldn't do it on my Honda before, had to be manufactured into the car AFAIK.

I thought I'd read somewhere that all B5 S4s had the mounts but were missing the bolts (or some such!).

Thanks though.

I am pretty sure ISOFIX can be retro fitted in some cars, but the B5 I don't know, but certainly would like to know.

The B5 RS4 guys here can apparently add it with a few bolts and brackets. I was wondering if we could do the same, figuring the body shells between the S4 and RS4 are basically identical ?
- 8D0 813 545 x 1 Left bracket
- 8D0 813 546 A x 1 Right bracket
- 8L0 837 453 x 4 bolts
<Edit> Found an article on Audiworld about it too. see [url=http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1932651.phtml]here[/ur] (ISOFIX is known as the "Latch System" in the US). So it looks like it is possible. I'll have a word to VAGParts :)

Please let me know the outcome.

The GF's Golf is already equipped, could be useful in the future if the B5 can be too.

Hi all

Just to confirm, retro fitted isofix to my B5 RS4 back seats only,go to dealer/vag parts and order Isofix brackets x2 and screws x4 and bolt in brackets to existing threaded holes behind rear seat backrest, dead easy 20 mins job done and safest way to transport young uns period, also easy to remove and refit.

Cheers "Bingo"

OMG 4 or 5 years ago the conversation went, look love this is a really safe car Etc… and I remember ISOFIX and thinking this was good for our kids and then seem to of completely forgotten about this until today. So please help me out WTF is ISOFIX as I am sure I should be up to speed with this, travelling around with beautiful kids minus ISOFIX.

I did it in my B6 saloon.

It cost me about £80 for both sides. You get a metal plate for each side with the ISOFIX metal loops on them. Two bolts are supplied and you just screw them in.

I actually removed them and sold them to a friend who put them in an A4.

I was struggling to find a front facing seat which sat well with the recaros. In the end I went for a Recaro kiddy seat which isn't ISOFIX but is as secure and stable as anything I've come across.

The anoying thing is in the S4 sales brochure it said it was standard and when Audi checked my VIN they said I should have it. When I said well pay for the retro fit they told me to feck off

Can you retrofix ISOFIX to a 2003 RS6? Probably is the same process...

Looking in ETKA it shows -ISOFIX- brackets as part number: 8D0 813 545 with screws 8L0 837 453 (2 per side).

Hmmm, looks promising.

Yes, you can retrofit into RS6 .... bought the parts for £70 ish .... fitting cost me another £50 as I couldnt figure how to take off the back seats.
