Continued turbo paranoia

Went out in a mates A4 1.8T today and the thing that struck me was there was no noise from the turbo.
Mine make a sort of spooling up whine which is quite noticable, not really high pitched but there if you know what I mean.
Also with the window down you can hear a whistle, similar to TDI's is the best I can describe it as not having listened to another S4 in the same way.
I plan to run some more logs tomorrow evening but would appreciate any thoughts in the mean time.

You will never beat the sound of a G60 but thanks for the prompt reply!
The reason I'm paranoid is that every time I have logged specified boost vs actual they have been miles apart.

Well that's a different problem!
That's like telling us you can't quite get the shine right on the bonnet then letting slip your cloth is falling through the whole in the rust!
Get your logs up for the masses to view.

Is this a continuation of your post a little while back that you posted some logs in? Did you not manage to get to the bottom of that problem yorkie?

actual and requested boost need to be some where in the region of
if they are not ther could be alsorts of different reasons why.
DV's , Air leeks ,
apparently turbo noise gets worse if you decat.
are you decatted??

Yes, losing the pre-cats make a big difference to the noise when they spool.

Ugh logging in the car...that is specialist website stuff.
Whistle noise on mine sounds great.... but I keep convincing myself there is another (short resonance)noise at about 4k .... NOBODY else hears it. I'm wondering if it is a heatshield or summit..... not 'dem' maifolds is it?

FPMSL! You're worse than me ...

I've got this at about 3K; a short 'buzz' sound that makes itself heard as i go through the 3K mark on the rev counter (but not either side of it!)... traced it to a section of exhaust just before the first box on my 3" cat-back ... trouble with mine is that EVERYBODY else can hear it ...

Sorry if this is spreading paranoia lol!
Yes, this is a continuation of my previous posts, since then I have changed the N75 valve and also the boost sensor (ouch) but I haven't done any logs since.
Car definitely feels quicker but I have no experience of S4 performance having driven a 230 brake Golf and a 21 speed Claude Butler for the last 8 years.

Answer 1: hopefully the spec v actual will be in-line now when you log next ...
Answer 2: Constipated? Swallow a teaspoon full of English Mustard ... that'll loosen you up ...
