Star Performance

Post by s4seeker » Sun Apr 15, 2007 10:54 am

Hey everyone
Not sure if this is where to post this but just had to say something about the service i recieved, once again, at Star Performance in Kirkaldy.
Went for a remap in my S3 and Jim up there suggested another couple of additions to make. A panel filter and a Forge Diverter Valve. Anyway left the car with him then came back later to discover it already had a map done (by a previous owner) but hadn't been running right because some one had put a T piece in back to front when fitting hoses. He had done a dyno run before any work and it was under standard power - so then he investigated and found this problem - sorted it and did another dyno run to find an already nice map in there. Not quite as powerful as i thought (he suggested it could even be one of his maps from a previous owner as the panel filter that was already fitted was the same type he uses)
Anyway point is i could have come back and paid for all that and been none the wiser - however Jim explained everything and charged for diagnosing power loss, rolling road time and diverter valve.
Generally an excellent service so i will be back again purely because of his ability to spot things wrong, honesty and the time he takes to describe what has happened and also to start with his prices are very reasonable.

Its a 2 hour drive for me to get to where he is but well worth it me thinks.

Excellent VAG specialist if anyone in the area hasn't yet used him and is planning some work.
cheers

Sorry to come in late on this, but yeah Jim at Star Performance is a top guy. Knows our cars and won't mess you around. The only fault with the place is that it's not closer to where I live! ;) But regardless, a visit to Star is well worth the trip.

I'm going back up there again as soon as I can get a slot to get a set of RS4 (B5) front brakes and a set of H&R ARBs fitted :).
