Used this company in the week and think they deserve a mention if I may.

http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/

I got four Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 225/45 17s fitted for £348. Pretty good.

Benefits for me were not having to have the tyres delivered as per buying tyres on internet directly and you pay after fitting. Couldn't beat the price buying directly and paying £10 per wheel for fitting any way.

Wheels were correctly torqued and pressues set exactly per my request. No balancing issues.

As it happens, during fitting one of my alloys had the paint scraped. An honest mistake that could have happened anywhere I think.

I pointed it out to the fitter and was told to have the wheel refurbed and fax the invoice though for the money to refunded to me. I called the company about 45 minutes later to confirm this would be ok and they already knew of the arrangement.

I'll take the oppertunity to get two of my wheels refurbed for the cost of one leaving me with a mint set. Luckily I have 2 spares.

They are coming next week for a pair of tyres on the Golf.

Recommended!

I confess I didn't. I shall when they return for my Golf at the weekend or when I settle my refurb claim next week.

True to their word, I faxed the invoice for my refurb to Event Tyres and without quible was asked for my card number for the refund.

If they can do the tyres on the Golf tomorrow without damaging the wheels it's a thumbs up!

I returned to BJV Engineering for my refurb. Again they have done a top job. For less than many places will do a inferior tocuh up, I had a tyres off, strip and repaint of the WHOLE wheel. A fine job.

Don't think they are any wheel refurb site sponser I will upset, so worth mentioning.
