A6 2.7T Bi-turbo, Help!

Post by vrcorrado » Thu Feb 15, 2007 3:51 pm

Hi, I know my cars not a RS (unfortunately) but I thought some of you knowledgeable chaps may be able to help.

I have a blown turbo in my 2.7 (55K Miles), and currently looking at getting it fixed, as I am on a real budget do I have to replace both turbos or just the broken one, I will be swaping like for like but have heard conflicting stories?

I also told it is an engine out job to replace. If so how much should I be looking at to get the new turbo/s fitted, and are there any recomendations for a garage?

Lastly, should I be getting anything else done at the same time, Cambelt, waterpump etc? As I say I am on a real budget?

Many thanks, Stuart

i believe they should be swapped in pairs, in anycase it's an engine out job so it'd be false economy to do one and not the other due to the cost involved in pulling the engine. i'd be looking at the cambelt, water pump etc for the same reason.
