In need of oil
In need of oil
My S4 requires a bit of an oil top-up. Can anyone recommend somewhere for buying some Castrol RS 10W60 at a decent price? Surprisingly enough, my local Halfords was of zero assistance! Does anyone know if the Formula RS has been replaced by this new 'Edge' stuff? Thanks.

RE: In need of oil
Castrol RS is recommended however the weight youve chosen is not recommended for this climate.
A winter weight of 0-10w is fine but 60 is too thick. Unless youre regularly tracking your car then your engine wont benefit from the 60 and would result in poor performance at normal oil temps. Best weight is around the 5W40 mark.
Personally i use 0W40 Mobil 1 for my stock B5 S4.

I have 10w60 in my car - this is what MRC put in the car when they last worked on it. Are you saying I should have something different?

Yours is highly tuned so will operate at higher temps but for a standard tune then 5w40 is recommended. The guys at MRC will know what they are doing.ZeroK66 wrote:I have 10w60 in my car - this is what MRC put in the car when they last worked on it. Are you saying I should have something different?
