Dunno about a specialist, but I can recommend Camberley Audi. I know a guy who works there on the RS (and possibly S) cars and he knows his stuff. They've got a really good setup down there. Just steer clear of Reading Audi as they are the biggest bunch of twunts you'll have the pleasure to meet. I've not yet met anyone who has anything but bad things to say about their customer service (that said, the actual work they've done on my cars in the past has always been fine).

If you're in north berkshire there's always someone like MRC in Banbury.

It's fair to say that Camberly Audi, being part of the VAG dealer network, is a VAG specialist ;)

I agree on Reading Audi. Although I've used them once and the service was good, I have read a lot of negative reports too.
I have used both Audi dealers in Newbury and Basingstoke and found them good. However the one in Basingtoke has changed hands since I used them - to the outfit that owns Camberly Audi - so there's every reason to expect standards to be maintained.

For an independent, there's Fontain in Iver.

If you want a REAL specialist then you have to choose from MRC in Banbury, AMD in Bicester, Quattrosports in Haywards Heath (?) or Dialynx near Swindon.

But remember that you'll hear good and bad reports about every company because there are always some people who are not happy about something...

Cheers guys, just got a good price from MRC, and its quite close to home. So it looks like I will be going there in the future.

Just out of curiousity, how much do you guys pay for a 10k service at main dealers?

Still a rip off.

Sorry, yeah an Audi dealership is a specialist I s'pose, I just always read specialist as actually meaning 'independent specialist' ;)

I have never had a 10K service done as I do my own oil changes. I have 20K services done instead, at less that 20K (I had my 80K done at 55K). I once asked and the answer was much the same as what Simon said.

My 10k services are to keep the book stamped, i also change the oil every 5k. I think it looks better if the book is stamped every 10k. Also keeping at 5k intervals rather than 4 or 6k keeps it easy to remember when one is due.

IIRC, 20k service is not a great deal more than a 10k.

I think that as long as the book is stamped, that will keep the un-educated happy at re-sale time. To the educated, I think that evidence of 5k oil changes and a well looked after car by an enthusiast help with re-sale.
