Europe Delivery for Audi comming soon!

Post by EvilBuddha » Thu May 25, 2006 2:09 am

I spoke to the Audi rep last week and he said they will have a Europe delivery program by Feb 2007! I don't think I can wait. It might cover the cost of a one or two week trip for two to Europe if they follow Volvo and BMW. You may get a tour of the plant, driving lessons on a track by a pro in your model car and a walk through your car by a tec, not a salesman. You tour Europe in your new car for a week or two and they pay to ship your car home. Check out the BMW ED program on their site it is what Audi is gunning for. They do 7% off a BMW, that same amount off MSRP on a RS4 would pay for a nice trip. But by then who knows, Audi may change the plan for the 2008 shipped in 2007. If the RS4 sells well in 2006 they will have to consider the market share they are loosing to BMW M3 Cab w SMG. I am praying for a RS4 Cab, Tip in Sprint Blue with Vanilla Napa Leather. :P I thought you guys might like the $savings that is offered.

I would go for Europe delivery, even if it didn't save any money. I believe it was trialled for the (then) new A8 model when I ordered my RS6 - I tried to push for the option, but was unsuccessful! :(

I spoke with my contact at Audi HQ about this years ago. He said the problem was that people expect it to be cheaper when in fact it increases costs. Due to the numbers they ship to the UK whether your order goes or not is largely irrelevant.

On top of this Audi Gmbh wil charge Audi UK for the factory tour, hand over etc etc making it more expensive to go and collect than have it at your UK dealer.

Thinks may have changed buts that's why it's not in place for us today.
