Anyone know if getting brake pads/spark plugs etc changed at a non-Audi dealer invalidates the warranty? Never been quite sure.....

I believe that if the work is carried out to Audi standards using components of the correct spec then there's nothing they can do about it.

To be honest I doubt they'd notice pads or plugs and even if they did they'd be classed as comsumables anyway.

Trouble is, recent service noted that I would need pads soon and plugs @ 60k miles (soon), which obviously if I get done somewhere else, Audi will note on next visit - don't fancy foresaking warranty on a 10 grand engine replacement for the sake of saving £50! I can guess Audi's answer if I ring & ask 'em direct...

You would appear to have misunderstood the way warranties work. They cannot cease your whole warranty like that. They only parts of the warranty that they can remove are those directly affected by any modifications. i.e. if my car has a seat/electical/wheel bearing/etc issue then they are all covered despite my aftermarket exhaust etc.

This is a European ruling.

Guys, you might be able to help here.

When I look at top right of my drivers seat in my S4 I can see something behind pushing onto the leather. Would recitfying this issue be covered in my warranty?

Dave
