Warranty "to be or not to be"

I have put this discussion here and also in the RS4 section as it relates to my car. I'm finding it difficult to decide on what to do re this issue.
I have had all the normal stuff replaced on the car like :the Gear box,the clutch, The Turbos, some susp parts arms etc, the bearings, the maf, the w pump, thermo, the alternator, water leaks, water hoses, boost leaks, oil recirculation system , brake servo, DV's and I'm sure much more. Now these parts carry a 2 year manufacturers warrantee and do not need an extension.
I have had a quote from mondial. It seems a lot of money £1138 for the last year.
I also spoke with the AA . £50 for a 500 limit 3 x per year total cover £1500 , Modified parts not an issue.
I did get a quote from the company who were mentioned on fifth gear but they told me any mods at all would invalidate the warranty whether they were related or not. This did seem strange but was confirmed each time I brought up the subject.
Could any one with an opinions on these policies and others that might be available please comment.
