Anyone know if it gets changed at anytime during routine maintenance my rs4 has done 46k,when cold gear selection is slightly stiff in first and second i know its normal in rs4s but wondered if an oil change would help?does anyone know the correct oil for it as my main agent arent too hot with rs4s and will probably put any old sh**e in it.its never crunched or anything im just trying to make it wife friendly if you know what i mean, telling her its built to cope with 400bhp isnt cutting it as its about 350 more than she wants ha ha thanks in advance guys.

Ouch, I hope it is the oil and not the famous RS4 gearbox replacement...

Not sure of any recommended intervals for change - I had mine done at about 45k. Made it slicker but didn't really help with the stiff 1st/2nd.

Blagged it under warranty also as I said I wasn't going to pay for them to diagnose a potential gearbox fault as I'd moaned 1st/2nd was stiff.

Cheers

Im hoping too as well bjacks she mentioned it to em when it was in a while ago,the only worry i have is they may blame it on the short shift kit but all other gears are fine when cold, the worst thing is i will have to leave it overnight for some 18yr old to cane around in the morning.

Similar dilemma with the SS kit.

The thing is, the first change of the day from 1st to 2nd is absolutly perfect. Then it starts getting stiff.

Bloody thing. Which gearbox code do you have?
