Insurance Advice - Again!

I may have found my dream car, a lowish miles Polar Silver RS2 and thought that Carole Nash would be able to do the business with their Classic Car Policy (see previous thread). Oh no, all changed and they no longer cover the RS2 as a classic.

Any ideas where maybe the most reasonable company to insure with. Currently with Norwich Union Direct for my Golf VR6 but they doubled the quote for the RS2.

Thanks in advance

Simon

Hi there,

I bought one end of last year and Privilege were the cheapest - £480 fully comp £500 excess - value £18k age 35 - for social, domestic and to and from business use.

Has to have a cat 1 alarm - but I guess most do. Hope this helps.

Tescos were the same as Direct Line for me. About £600. Might try Privilege though...

Simon,
How long have you owned the RS2 ? As far as I know Carole Nash do still offer a classic policy but stipulate certain conditions, one of which is you must have owned the vehicle for at least 1 year.

They also insist the car would need to be a secondary vehicle with mileage limited to 6000 per year and you would need to be 25 or over. I hope this is still the case as I plan to switch over to them when my current policy expires.
