A big thumbs up for Lind Audi at Tonbridge. Booked the RS2 in there for four wheel alignment as my previous plans to get the tyres changed and 4WA done together were thwarted by a puncture.
Him indoors ended up taking the car over there for me. He said they made him feel like a valued customer/real Audi owner - unlike the dealer we bought the S3 from.
Invoice included printouts of the before and after settings. And they washed the beast and cleaned her out inside - I hardly recognised her.
One of the salesmen was obviously a real RS2 fan and they had a chat. His jaw dropped when he was told she was the wife's car!

Re: Lind Tonbridge
I had a laughable situation the last time I visited the local dealership to have some work carried out. No probs with the work that was done and I have known the the service team and mechanics who have worked on my cars for some time, so great customer relations there.
I had gone into work early that morning in the other halves car, a 1.0ltr Toyota Yaris (be careful you could love it to much!). We had agreed to meet at the dealership to give her her car back as it's was on her way to work, I had arranged to get a lift back to work by the service guys and have them collect me again when the car was ready. Anyhows, I'd arrived at the garage a few minutes early and parked the Wittle Waris in the only available parking slot left, got out the car and just lottiered next to it waitng for the woman to turn up. There was a team of Audi guys all in their 30's and none I'd seen before, doing some sort of stock check on the vechiles outside. After 5 minutes had passed and the car park starting to rapidly over-fill, I could sense that the guy who was doing all the finger pointing to the others was starting to get twitchy about the parking space issue, and was seemily focusing his twitch on me, you know how you can just tell these things sometimes??? (btw I was wearing my hackys and knowing me probably had my jumper on back to front and hair all over the place). Sure enough he comes over and asks 'Can I help you!?'. It wasn't the question he asked but the way he asked it and of course the lead up to the question I saw coming. I simply replied, I was waiting for the missus to bring my car and cut the conversation off there. He shuffled off with the look on his face that he hadn't really accomplished what he had come across for, i.e. for me to piss off! Not too long after this the missus pulls up in the 4 and stops right in the middle of the access road to the building, it had just been washed and waxed and looked absolutely delicious - those 19's , 3 doors opened up and the Missus and her work mates get out of the car with their legs all akimbo . The look on all of the Audi guys faces was great, you could see the drool starting to form at the sides of their mouths, I just quietly smirked to myself thinking, yeh - UPYOURSMATE!

Too much is bad.
Plenty is better.

Re: Lind Tonbridge
he he i'd have liked to see that!! the look on their faces i mean, not the legs akimbo honest!! when i was a wee 19 year old a few years ago i went into my local audi showroom with the intention of forking out half my monthly wages on a nice newish a4, but the sales guys there didn't bother asking if i needed any help and were well rude when i finally asked them to test drive one, they made me feel like a right porper, then out walked me old mate Jez. he took me for a test drive in a lovely 5 month old laurel green a4.. when we got back the other sales twats were there looking smug and i sat down and signed the 500 bits of paper and had a lovely cup of tea. 5 days later i went back and picked it up with pride! 2 years later i went back in to look at the 1.8t quattro and they were all to happy to help.. i ended up buying it from jez again tho.. oh and then i bought my S4 from him 8 months later to he he
Re: Lind Tonbridge
We had a similar experience at the Audi Garage at Walton Bridge.
Turned up wearing jeans and T shirt, and asked about placing an order for the RS4. The guy effectively said 'you cant afford it', and wouldn't even entertain putting me on their orders list.
This was the same guy I'd spoken to on the phone earlier who had been as nice as pie. I walked, but did send him and the dealer sales manager an email telling them how I had been treated and had he been bothered enough to talk to me in a civil manner he would have found out we had previously spoken on the phone.
Guess what.
Didn't even get a reply to my email.
Consequently I voted with my wallet and have never brought anything from them again.
Colbornes at Ripley (now Guildford) have been as helpful as you like for VW. Guildford Audi aren't too bad either, except for one really grumpy to$$er.
Some nice woman in there arranged for a couple of test drives for us (even if she was cr@pping herself at the speed I drove the RS4 )
Makes me laugh at how people judge you based on the way you look/what car you drive.

Too many toys, not enough time
Re: Lind Tonbridge
Thats why I always turn up in the 307 because then you get some idea of the way you will get treated after you have bought the car!!!
