Just had a quote from Slough Aston Green Audi for extended warrantey on a RS4 for £620...thought this was pretty good, has anyone had a better quote.

That sounds good. Can you take that out at any time after the current one expires?

That was if it was taken out before the original 3 years ran out otherwise you will need a £150 inspection.

Mog,

Excuse my ignorance (or maybe not?) but haven't there been various other posts, on the forum, stating that the warranty is void if the car has been modified

So if it comes to 'pay up' time, will they not try and give you a deaf ear and "Sorry sir, warranty doesn't cover that"

Not being pessimistic, but wouldn't want to see you paying good money for something that as they say "Is not worth the paper it is written on"

Hopefully this is not the case, but worth checking the small print

Regards,

Andy

In theory your correct, but it does depend on the dealer

Just as a side note, Audi have changed the under-writers for they're extended warrantees as of 01/01/2004. There is now some form of price structure to the level of cover you want i'm told. Hope to find out more next week.

As far as the original three year warranty and modifications are concerned this has always been down to the Audi dealer with mod friendly dealers prepared to overlook the fact that the car has been modified while others may use this as an excuse not to cough up.

However with extended warranty this may be different - if you explain to the dealer the full extent of the modifications then it is up to Audi to confirm that a warranty will be available or not. I guess if those modifications have been carried out through an Audi dealer themselves then their case for rejectig a warranty proposal would be weaker.

Having a mod doesn't void a warranty in total. Just the associated parts.

£ 620 for a year on an RS4 sounds like a bargain to me.
