hi,
i hope you don't mind me posting here,as i only own the standard a3 quattro.

my question is,when do you have to declare wheel mods?
the wheel size on my vehicle is 16",so do i have to inform them when i go up in size? change from oem? value?

the last time i declared a set of alloys,i was charged £70 by Direct Line (who i am still with)but this was changing from a set of 14" steel wheels to a set of 17" alloys on a Renault Scenic.

i would like to fit a set of rs4 9 spokes (replicas)so would they know that they were not standard?

thanks in advance

Always err on the side of caution with insurance, the robbing bastards will decline a claim for the crapiest reasons, declare em and drive around safe in the knowlwedge that you're covered.

yes you do.

my (Optional) 18" RSTT's are listed as "Factory fit, non standard alloy"

if they had been aftermarket.. "aftermarket non standard alloy"

and im with DL.

You should tell your insurer about changes in wheel sizes and tyre sizes I reckon.

I am with Greenlight and they only charge a premium for increases in wheel sizes, not for different tyre sizes on the same wheels.

Best to be cautious as the potential consequences of a refused claim are huge.

i agree, best to be safe than sorry.
but direct line are NOT interested in wheel size,or wheather they are standard audi equipment,ONLY value,i asked them to clarify this,as i thought it was odd. i gave a value of £750 for rs4 9 spoke replicas,so i would be covered up £1000 bracket.
