Track day insurance

Post by SimonS4MTM » Tue Nov 04, 2003 6:20 pm

Can anyone recomend a company that can offer track day insurance.

How much is it likely to cost?

Thanks

Just had a quote from CCI 0115941 5255.
Apparently they are specialists.
Quoted me £272 with a £5k excess - capped at £25k claim limit or £448 with a £50k claim limit.

I have tried them, £202 for 100% with £1800 excess.

Anyone know of any other companies?

Do a search on the forum - it has been discussed many times before.

Strugling to find anything, tried Greenlight but they only offer it to existing customers.

Getting some grief from HID about getting insurance for Oulton Park.

All help appreciated

Simon

Your CCI quote sounds about right....Track day insureres have been hammered over the last few years with people binning very expensive cars....You either pay the premium or take the risk yourself. I actually went with Greenlight as a Track Day with their policy is £65 extra per event ...worth it I thought.

The Insurance is easily the single largest cost to doing track days.

Mine hasn't actually twigged I think she thinks it's just another one of those meets with the lads . Must pick up the helmet from daughter ( her biking days , same size as me ) rather than her drop it off and leave in the kitchen - bit too obvious !

IIRC the Competition Car Insurance policy does not cover impact damage to mechanical components, it's just for bodywork so read the terms carefully if you are thinking of using them.

My insurance is with Roadster (Aon) and covers me fully comp for track days. It used to be included but now costs about £25 per event with the excess being 10% of the value of the car.
