Got my car back!

Although the bill was over £700!
This was:
40K service
New front pads
Front disks removed and cleaned
Suspension service (lubrication)
Headlight alignment
4-wheel alignment with adjustments (took 2 hours apparently)
RR test
I wanted the RR test as I thought the power was down at the top end. No problems found, in fact the power was slightly up compared to last time (maybe the engine has loosened a bit more). Either it was a case of 'getting used to the performance' or it NEEDED the service.
On the way home the car did feel MUCH better. I was just ready to leave AmD at 5.05 pm when my wife phoned to say that she was held up at work and could I collect the girls from nursery? This meant getting to Pangbourne, Berks in less than an hour. Since that's over 60 miles of A & B roads, and includes a lot of 30mph limit stretches (but fortunately also a stretch of M40), it meant that I had to drive rather fast on a few occasions. And yes, the car did seem to perform much better than before the service.
Although AmD did not find any problems, I'm sure that I will renew the MAF myself at some point.
