40,000 mile service rs4

Im nearing 40k on the clock but the DIS is still saying 2800 miles until the next service. I bought the car with 34k on but wasn't told about the big cambelt service at 40k by the dealer (reading posts on here I realised). Should I have the service done now or in another 2500+ miles as the DIS says and should I be asking them to contibute a little towards the cost? Im a bit pi**ed off that after only 6k of driving im getting a £1000 service bill.
Vinny.

Get it done, but ask to see the parts that have been replaced. Ii would be interesting to see the amount of wear. I didn't check mine...

Strange. I was under the impression that the cambelt service was at 80K miles - at least it is on the S4.
Didn't realise that this was different on the RS4

That is very cheap, best get a work schedule from then so you can see exactly what they are doing, unless that is just parts?

The items I've listed are what they are replacing for £395 which includes labour, parts and vat. The rest of the service - oils, filters etc. is going to be done when the DIS says in another 2800 miles, dont know how much this will cost?? Should not be more than £300 notes I hope.
When I spoke to the dealers I told them that I was not happy that the cambelt was due 1500 miles ago and the DIS is still saying nearly 2800 miles til the next service, expressed my concerns that someone had been falsifying the service intervals before I bought the car. Perhaps they have been found out, like I said in my first post, I would have been really narked if I had any sizeable bill for this after owning the car for such a short period.
What are the service intervals suppose to be for the rs4? AVS or a fixed term/mileage? The last service was carried out at 27,818 miles.

Strange, I asked about the guide rollers for the cambelt but they said it does not need doing until 80,000 miles, I notice from the link there PhilT that the aircon belt and v belt is not mentioned? are these suppose to done at 40k with the cambelt?

That was the list I was given to satisfy the warranty requirements as far as the 40k belt change goes.... Don't do those, and you risk the warranty AFAIK.
