Insurance Refund!!!
Insurance Refund!!!
Really surprised when I contacted Direct Line about changing the insurance from my Impreza STi7 PPP to the RS4 MTM Stage III with lots of other mods which I told them about. £48 pound refund and no requirement for Tracker
Don't really understand how insuring a car 50% more powerful and nearly twice as expensive can cause a drop in price and no Tracker required. Assume that Impreza has higher accident rating or is stolen more often but then I always thought that RS4s were top of the most stolen car list.
Still I'm not complaining!!

Re: Insurance Refund!!!
similar story with me... (DL again)
used to have a 2002 S3 225, chipped and porsche braked...
phone up for a change to a new 2003 s3 225, all the same extras and chip and brakes, PLUS sat nav plus, quattro gmbh suspension and parking sensors, so higher value car.... by a few £k's
and ...
£160 rebate.

Re: Insurance Refund!!!
check the documents when they come as direct line often put the wrong vehicle on by accident. could have put an s4 down.

Re: Insurance Refund!!!
JOn, yes they do make mistakes - Direct Line gave me a quote for an S4 over the phone for £400'ish - thought this was gr8, so I called them back and told them to start the cover asap - it was then that they realised that they'd offered me cover for a '94 S4 and my '99 model was gonna cost another £200 . I had a whinge and after speaking to a supervisor they gave me cover for my car for the original quote - well done Direct Line

Just rang Direct Line and they do have it all correct including the mods. Excess is £700 due to all the mods.

Re: Insurance Refund!!!
lol jon,
you certainly know how to put a mans mind at ease, eh
Mind you, my insurance co only wantedan extra 800 quid to swap a 96 Passat Estate (worth about a grand) for a Porsche Cayenne Turbo (68k list).
If you are already insured with them just wait for the paperwork. If your changing to them though on the basis of a low rate I'd ask them to fax or email confirmation of the premium and cover.
Cheers,
John.
