2014 C7 RS6 Avant Headlight fogging.

Post by Jacknm2 » Mon Mar 25, 2024 2:30 pm

Hey guys, new to the forum and a new RS6 Owner. Traded in my B8 RS4 after 4 months of owning it for the C7 RS6. Phenomenal car but has its issues.

Remap by a no name garage causing gearbox issues, mismatched tyres. Start/Stop not functioning correctly and headlights fogging up.

I've seen online the lights are not a sealed unit and understand it's bound to happen on a 10 year old car, I was looking at replacing them with some after market LED units but the only ones I can find say they are not compatible with the Xenon directional headlights. Does any one know of somewhere that supplies units that would be compatible?

I'm not against keeping the originals but haven't a clue how to stop the fogging up (stays for weeks after I've washed the car) and the price of used replacement units is the same as aftermarkets so I thought I may as well get new ones.

Aside from that, gearbox has been serviced, cars booked into MRC for a proper stage 1 remap and I've had all 4 tyres replaced with PS4S's for my own OCD and so the TC doesn't have to work with different levels of grip. Going to give it a full service + diffs in 6 months and upgrade the spark plugs and coil packs.

Any way, rant over lol. Any help on the headlights would be much appreciated! I know I can't just pop matrix LED lights in as much as I'd like to, don't fancy forking out for a new loom and coding etc...

Cheers!

Jack,
