Cabriolet roof specialists?

Post by SupraEdd » Fri Jan 03, 2020 1:59 pm

Hi all, Happy New Year.

Has anyone got recommendations for cabriolet roof specialists? Preferably based around Essex but am willing to travel.

I get an issue sometimes that the roof needs a little extra push to open. It does the initial unlock from the top of the screen, rises half an inch then stops, a little push with the finger and it completes the sequence. Also a couple of times, when closing the rear cover opens up, but then the roof doesn't unfold out.

I just want to sort this out before it becomes a real problem every time I want to put the roof down. And I expect that going direct to Audi will be very expensive!

Regards,

Edd...

I had a similar issue to this buddy and all I did was replace the motor, I don't think that it was too expensive, around £200 including fitting if memory serves me correctly. :thumb:

VAGPRO in Leicester. 100% worth it. Does a phone consultation but visit and you'll never use anyone else. Very reasonable and expert doesn't cover it. Does it as a sideline to his Electronic Engineer business. Trust me, it is who you use.... (Or Mervyn at AutoElectron in Harrogate if you are up north).

Thanks Borry, I also found I can get the motor refurb for £75 if I take it out myself (doesn't look too difficult).

Thanks P, thats exactly what I was looking for a recommendation :) . I found VAGPRO and had emailed them before posting this up. am waiting to hear from them. but maybe I'll make the call at lunch. its a just under 3 hour drive for me to get there, needs a good run lol.
