B7 RS4 ESP Module Replacement Re-coding?

Hi Everyone,
The ESP module (8E0614517BD) in my car has failed and I have been quoted $4500 AUD for an OEM replacement part. This is more than I would like to spend. My question is, can I buy a used module and have it re-coded for my car? Does anyone have experience with this?
