B7 Water Trails

Hi all,

My car been doing this pretty much since I bought it.

When reversing off my very short drive, 2 pronounced leak trails are made, which then make a sort of small puddle and then the leak stops pretty much as soon as I head off in first gear.

I'm pretty certain it's not engine fluid, as it is definitely not oily, it's colourless and odourless, and if it were coolant I would have thought the levels would drop pretty quickly. I am aware I have a very slow coolant leak already but the amount of water on this trail cannot be the same leak.

Any ideas, I thought if may the air con compressor or a water trap. Or a build up of coolant after a sprited drive, which collects in a trap and then leaks out when the car is reversed??

Did this still happen during the long dry spell we had ? Could be water collected ( rain / washing car ) in the plenium chamber ( under the wipers ) . Known problem on Audis as rubber drain bungs gets blocked .

That's the exact thing I thought (hoped!!) it may be. Is the plenum easy to access for me to take a look?

Any more ideas?

Remove rubber seal along bulkhead and cover just slides forwards. Two rubber bungs . One where the battery was supposed to sit and one under master cylinder . Pour a load of water on windscreen before doing the above and then see if it collects in there .
