Discs and pads B7 RS4

Post by Mclarenhippo » Fri Apr 20, 2018 8:50 pm

Hi all

I'm looking for some help.

I've had my RS4 for 9 years!!

It's done 90K and discs and pads were changed about 2K ago. Ever since there has been a whirring sound. It's most noticeable from 20mph to 80mph. It's at a frequency of about 4 whir or wer sounds (!) PER second although obviously does change with speed .

Initially I think the sound completely changed or reduced on braking. Now it changes on braking but doesn't dissapear.

The garage who fitted - seem pretty competent although are a BMW specialist rather than Audi sp. My usual Audi sp. Don't do Mots hence getting work done by them.

They have checked since and said all is in order. They wondered if new front tyres were causing the problem although these were changed before the work and MOT.

Anyway it's really quite loud and doesnt seem to be reducing at all and wonder if anyone had had similar issues?

Thanks for any thoughts

Jonty 😌😌
