Where are you based?

Can you choose where the inspection is done? Would be best at an Audi specialist that knows RS4’s. I’m sure members on here would be able to point you in the right direction.

If you suspect they are being less than legitimate do not show your hand by suggesting it could be this, or that etc.

I would also insist on being there during the independent assessment, but by the sounds of it, that has happened already.

Are there photos of the car before purchase including the underside? Did/does it have the undertray present?

If the engine work was completed 200 miles before you bought it, it begs the question why it was sold. For me it suggests there was a problem. Do you know who did all the work? I may have missed that in an earlier post.

What’s the legal advice stance if the independent assessment has been completed and suggested the sump could have been missed earlier, etc?

You’ve done 25% of the overall distance the car has done since the engine work. If a few of the mechanics have ‘extensively’ road tested, it’s quite possible they caused the damage hooning around. Probably very difficult to prove. Have you done research on the garage to see if there are other less favourable reviews etc to help your case against their credibility?

This really sucks mate, hope you can get it sorted. Don’t back down.

Based in Bournemouth. The independent assessment has to happen to move forward. I called Audi they can look at it but not for 2 weeks and I need to get it there too but the car is dead. Even if I did that I don’t think they carry out independent assessments, however if you know otherwise please let me know. An ideal situation would be if this happened within the same area MRC are based, id love for them to look at this

Try Shiply.com for quotes on a low loader to take the car to the assessment

see a solicitor-quickly before this drags on-you can claim costs too-the solicitor will put that to them in his first letter

So they have refused my rejection but said if the idependent assessment shows it wasn’t me he will give me a full refund, instead of just going to court straight away if you see what I mean. I think because the engine is ruined and it’s going to cost a lot to fix they are going to be difficult, if it was a cheap easy fix I could guarantee it would be sorted by now

have had legal advice, after rejecting a car, there needs to be proof of the fault. An independent assessor therefore needs to inspect the car and report on what has happened in order for it to move further.

What is the independent currently saying on the matter?

The assessor has said he can only advise on what he can see and try to determine the failure. The fact of the matter is the engine was removed and dismantled without asking my permission. This should of never have happened. Any assessment from now, in my opinion is biased as they have messed with the car on their own accord. At no point did they ask permission. I have sent an ultimatum email. Refund or court

Why have they dismantled the engine if the car's owned by you, and they are blaming you for the damage??

If you hadn't given them permission to do that, why on earth would they?? Unless they knew something or were covering things up??

Doesn't add up.
