In the worst case scenario, does any one have any recommendations for engine rebuilders ?

Kent-Automotive in Maidstone have just rebuilt a Gallardo engine that a "specialist" garage fucked up twice, so they would be worth talking to!

They are Audi RS experts as the owner is an ex master tech from Audi.

i,m surprised an engine with that mileage needs anything more than a clutch and a decoke. it seems as the amount of work theyve done there were issues before you purchased it . have you been able to trace any previous owners or history. hope you get the right result.

Interesting read.

Let's hope you get this sorted. The fact they have touched the car afterwords sets alarm bells ringing.
As someone else has said I think looking at past reviews could help you out.

Only just been able to revisit this topic after all that happened. I ended up having to claim on my insurance, one of the worst things that has happened to me but you live and you learn. I will always be far more careful when buying now !

Good to hear back from you, but a real shame that it sounds like it did not go in your favour. Would be as well to share at least the vehicle registration so others can be warned should they search the reg. useful to know the garage to I guess, but understand why you may not want to share that.

I’m assuming therefore that you no longer have the car, rather than your insurance company paying out for the repairs?

Yeah reg was SP06HMH. The car was a write off, after a lenghty back and forth with insurance managed to get back all my money minus the excess. Obviously my insurance prices have now risen by quite a bit too !
