RS6 Performance - 21" 5-V-Spoke Alloys buckling

Post by RWCRS6Performance » Sun Mar 25, 2018 6:39 pm

Hi Everyone,

Recently joined the forum, looking for some advice and to see if anyone has had the same experience.

I bought a 2016 RS6 performance in December from main dealer. It had 10k on the clock and was a year old in mint condition.

Within 4 weeks it was back with the dealer with both passenger side alloys buckled. I do remember hitting a pothole but nothing catastrophic, and they were completely written off. I was lucky to even be able to drive the car to the dealership. £2.5k later two new alloys we are back on the road.

1500 miles go by, the car goes in for its first service and I reported a slight vibration at motorway speed, thinking it was a wheel balancing issue, only to be told both passenger side alloys are buckled again! This time only slightly and possible to refurbish. I have never buckled an alloy in 20 years of driving performance cars so something doesn't feel right!!

Has anyone experienced issues with the 21" 5-V-Spoke Alloys on the RS6?

I can see there have been a lot of issues with various alloys but has anyone had any success with Audi UK or dealerships with getting compensation or refunds?

Funnily enough, this entire forum started up circa 2001 2002 due to the B5 RS4 bendy alloy wheel saga!

Sorry to hear about your troubles, that sucks, such a shame n such a lovely car

Thanks Ian, but I guess no luck with compensation from Audi UK or the dealerships?

I've had three buckles and a cracked alloy less than 7 months of ownership on 2015 plate with around 30k on clock. Blackcircles.com compensated £220 for the refurb and sent me a free replacement tyre for the cracked alloy as it ate the inside of the tyre(£250). Need to invest in a spare set.
