2010 S4 Avant potential purchase

Hi all,

Looking to purchase the above car with 66000 miles on it. It will be my first Audi so looking for a heads up on potential niggles and what to look out for? It is from a dealership so warrantied but be handy to know what to look for.

In addition the general diligence you should have buying any car, pay particular attention to the service history. Don't just accept it has stamps on the book or FSH even if it's been main dealer serviced. Your priority here is the gearbox oil (assuming s-tronic), which should have had an oil change at or before 38K miles.

It should have had a major service by now, with plugs and air filter. A car owned by an enthusiast will probably have had these items a few times over. A car serviced strictly to schedules only may only have had them recently!

Also at 60K the supercharger belt should be changed (this got introduced after launch so is not in the service book).

Front wings can suffer on the lips at the bottom of the wheel arch (facelift cars got a plastic guard here). Touch wood mine are ok bar few small chips, but there have been cases of rust and warranty claims. Worth a quick look.

The possible options list is quite long, so make sure you know your standard fit from an optional extra. Find a PDF brochure online for that. Chose and pay accordingly, depending on what you want.
