RS7 Warped Wavy Rusted Discs

Post by Sammas1961 » Thu Jul 06, 2017 6:03 pm

RS7 2015 only 17000 KM

Went on vacation for 4 weeks, left the car outside in my driveway parked. Came back, Discs are warped and the car shakes like hell when I brake.
Dealer and Audi refused to help, they said it is not under warranty, Dealer advised 2 Front Discs and Brakes , $4000.00
Now it rained a lot but this is the first time I hear that 4 weeks under the rain is enough to warp the discs. I am not the only one who parked the car for 4 weeks ???

The dealer told me I should have parked the car inside protected from the element or somebody should have moved the car every week

Any advise, any experience, I was told to brake hard, I have been doing it for few weeks and although it improved a little, the shaking is still here

Thanks guys

Sam

You're discs have not warped from it being parked up, just can't happen. You may have pad residue on the disc but this should be removed by some bedding in or heavy braking.
Get the discs skimmed if there's plenty of metal left on them. Cheaper than buying new discs if they're not that old.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

I have just skimmed mine last week. Cost £50
New pads of carparts4less for £62 for both fronts. Result.

Also, brembo front discs on carparts4less for £521 for front set.
