Hi guys

I have read a load of useful info on here some relating to the coking issue on the rs4 b7.

As I haven't driven another rs4 for many years is there away without the dyno of checking if my car needs decoking?

Thanks in advance

You should feel a noticeable kick at 5000rpm

Thanks Deano I will check that out!

Do you know what the power is meant to jump to from there?

5500rpm sorry. Flaps in the inlet change to direct the air differently. Not sure on power.

Another thing i read eleswhere is that 3000 to 8000 rpm in 3rd should take 8secs... anything near 9 secs or over means it is coked up pretty bad.

Also what are the tips for ensuring you avoid a build up?

Italian tune regularly or get another car without the direct inject carbon build up issue.

Also, this:

Get the engine up to temperature as soon as you can (don't idle it but just drive it steadily at around 2000rpm till it warms up) and keep the engine operating at 3000rpm for 15 minutes per week. At this RPM range the engine is designed to run hotter and this can help burn off some of the carbon deposits. -- Read more at: http://www.torquecars.com/volkswagen/2- ... tuning.php - (c) TorqueCars"
