I've recently just had a issue with my rs4 b7 2006
While I driving it on the weekend the clutch pedal suddenly felt strange like at times it wouldn't go in to gear 2 when driving unless I was doing a certain speed etc
Eventually on the way home I was shifting it into 4th gear when suddenly the pedal just went straight to the floor
It would not go back up unless I lift it manually and then it just wouldn't go into any gear! It's like the clutch pedal is no longer there' it just drops back to the floor when I press it and it has no pressure to it..
I've went and brought a slave cylinder and master cylinder but was wondering if it's worth my time in replacing them?
Also looking at the master cylinder I was wondering if anyone's replaced one yet & if there a d.i.y on here as I can't seem to find one

I had the same problem in June, driving slipped into 4th and the pedal stayed down, I had to free wheel into a side road as couldn't get any gears.
Eventually I managed to bump start it in 3rd and limp home 2miles.
I bought a new slave cylinder and uprated s/s clutch pipe, my local garage fitted these but still no gears were available.
Eventually the gearbox had to be dropped and it was found my clutch had shattered,
Had to renew clutch and also mass flywheel as a precaution.
Now driving fine and no issues, just a bit lighter in my pocket️
Not really a DIY job unless you've got access to a ramp.

Thanks for the reply! I had a feeling it's going be the clutch but since I've brought the slave and master cylinders I'm going to give them a go!
I'm a mechanic by trade but ain't got access to a ramp at home unfortunately any work that's going to be carried out is on the floor using axle stands weather it's just the master cylinder/slave or the clutch!
I'll let you know what works for me & if it is the clutch (hopefully not) I'll make a d.i.y with pics on how I got it done!
