Yes you can get the iPhone to work for phone calls but not for music that is if you have a rns-e unit. From memory you switch bluetooth on on the phone then when you first start the car go to bluetooth setting on your phone and connect, default password is 1234 from memory. I'm not sure what adapter you are referring to as I have a 6 CD changer but try switching the source to Aux on your unit. If you don't have aux you will need to find someone with a Vag-com adapter to enable it for you.
