Xenon bulb replacement

Hello all,
First post, and apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but hours of googling have failed to come up with a definitive answer to the following, I think quite simple, question.
What lightbulbs do I need in order to replace blown Xenons in my C6 RS6 ? The manual, of course, says please give your local Audi dealer 400 quid per corner.
I have figured that they are D2S or D3S, but I have also come up with something that tells me D2S vs D3S are different designs with regard to built-in igniters and that I can't use D3S if i have D2S... I have one bulb that went pink for a few weeks and then gave up the ghost, hence I think my ballasts are fine and I just have a straightforward failed bulb but I plan to replace both.
Given the complexity of access to the light housings based on the YouTube videos I have seen, I would much rather have the replacements ready-to-go before I start taking large chunks out of the engine bay, hence I have not been able to easily take out my existing ones to read the existing bulb types off the bulb housings.
Any help appreciated.
