Reputable Audi dealer in Hampshire

Post by mbelle » Mon Nov 30, 2015 3:21 pm

I've historically not liked using Audi dealers, particularly due to their lack of expertise and customer service (in my experience anyway).
However, having a comprehensive Audi warranty with my new purchase, I may need to use them.
In the 7.5 years I owed my B5, I never once used Audi for any work, always using reputable specialists instead.

As a result, does anyone know of (or have experience with) a reputable Audi dealer in the Hampshire area?

Thanks in advance.

Pre B7 RS4 I quite liked Newbury Audi but they were expensive... I now use a specialist so read into that what you will...

Basingstoke Audi - never phoned me back when I wanted to place an order for an S4, so never been back to them.

Southampton Audi - great parts guys, but hopeless servicing guys who insist on calling my RS4 an A4.

Portsmouth Audi - did a good job on DRC goodwill replacement, but that's all I've had done by them.

I use an indie in Totton who have always been really good.

If you have to use an Audi dealer then maybe worth the extra couple of miles to Camberley Audi? - they're less than a mile outside Hampshire!

Thanks too Dave.
I'm booked in to Portsmouth Audi Thursday, as I need work completing before the weekend.
I'll assess this experience and try Camberley Audi if not to my satisfaction.

My RS6 has been maintained by Camspec in Crawley for the last 4 years. I can't recommend them highly enough. Great service, very friendly and very honest

Run by two Audi Mastertech technicians. I gladly make an 80 mile round trip for the peace of mind that the car is properly maintained.

I don't get the Camberley thing. I'm sure there's lots of good experiences backing up the universal praise for it, but the experience I had was absurd.

Firstly, you rock up at a rough industrial estate, sit in a queue of 20 people all booked in at the same time and don't even get to ogle tottering dolly-birds while you wait.

I had to complain and return to get some basic warranty work done (and this was with the legendary guy that everybody raved about). To be fair, they got it right second time around but they weren't the haven of good service I'd expected.

Camberley Audi service department used to be on an industrial estate that was REALLY rough, but about 8 years ago moved onto the main A30 - so if that's the site you mean then you should have seen their previous one

Their Master Tech left a few years ago and they haven't been as good since - but still better than any of the 3 Audi dealers I've experienced in Hampshire.

It wasn't too bad TBH, for the work I had done.
I was travelling to Poland the Saturday after it was booked in and wanted the oil and plugs changing, along with an inspection, before I went.
I ended up having a 60K service.
However, it wasn't an overly impressive experience, and they couldn't offer me a courtesy car (which I was disappointed about, but admittedly had only arranged the booking a few days before) as there was a 3 week lead time on cars.

One thing I did like, which they only did to highlight an advisory though, was Audi Cam, where they record some of the work carried out by the technician in an attempt to personalise the service.
They email you a link to the video to watch it back...
Had they recorded all the work for me to watch back, I would have been more impressed.
