service indicator

Post by ianw » Wed Apr 23, 2003 8:16 am

for info the service indicator on my RS4 started warning me about two weeks ago that it needed a service in 1200 Kms, I have only done 2500km's in it in 14months or so (I know its a crime) which then rapidly changed every couple of days or so to 900kms, 600kms until it was showing 100Kms to service when I dropped it off today, so it must also be related to date as well as mileage because I have probably only done 300kms since it showed the 1200km warning, however it is about 14 months since its last service

Does work on date too, I had a 10,000 mile service after about 10 months, then 2 months (and 2000miles) later the light came on telling me that I needed a 12month service.

Pretty clever really (though with hindsight I should have had the 12month one done early and saved some money)
