WARRANTY

Post by hbk » Thu Apr 17, 2003 12:24 am

Hi All

Just wondering, my Audi warranty doesn't expire until September, but anyone knows what the cost is to extend it?

Cheers

I just paid £765 for a 4 year old S4.

The Audi warranty had lapsed (it had a insurance type warranty on it for 1 year) which I think ups the price slightly.

Had the car been 5 years old the cost was £990 which personally I wouldn't have gone for due to the limited claim system on the warranty for cars over 5yrs old.

Yep same as Dan for my S4. I assume the RS4 will be the same because the pricing is based on engine size. Unless the RS4 has a 'Special' category

Just remembered something else.

The timing on purchase of extending warranty is important.

I think it is cheaper to extend from within an existing term than outside it.

Also, The warranty costs are updated effective 1st February and 1st August and they go up. My cost was £ 600 when I asked in January this year but when I took it out in March, it had gone to £ 765. So it may be cheaper to overlap a little to buy at an older price.

Does any of that make sense ?
