Rear B7 abs sensor

Post by Batfinnk » Tue Jul 09, 2013 5:27 pm

Just changed the rear abs sensor as I destroyed the old one doing a wheel bearing. The main body in the hub is a complete pita to get out but fitting the new one is a doddle. The plug is behind the rear seat upright end section on each side and only requires removing the small under guard to access the cable under the car. Also a 10mm socket is required for the cable holder on the rear arm and a T27 torx bit. You only need to remove the two accessable bolts on the cable guard. Mine when broken showed the tc light, abs light and also threw up a headlamp adjustment error. When the new one was fitted all the lights went out straight away.

I hope this may be of use to someone at some point. :bigwave:

4 years later and its kinda helped, the Little bolt holding the sensor rounded off but i got it out by using a dremel to grind flats on the head and a small socket to get it out. im now struggling to get the sensor out, next step is to smash it and drill it out. Ive bought a rear right replacement. Wish me luck tomorrow :)
