How much do you recon rs 4 with left hand drive would cost for me? 20 years old. 3 years no claims discount.

If you get an offer of 2.5k, I'd take it like a shot. I'm 50, with maximum NCD and was getting quotes of over 3k for my RS6!

That seems awfully steep Peter, and yours Ken.

Was with NU Direct last year and they took £1400 quid off me. When it came for the renewal they wanted £1800 even though I was a year older and another year of no claims under my belt, so had a ring around and the best I found was Elephant at just under £900. Strangest thing was it didn't make any difference if I had a tracker unit or not, I also disclosed the mods I have (short shift and brakes). Dont know what there cliams process is like and will hopefully never have to find out. Also have the missus on there.

I know I will get shot for saying this but ----

NU in MY experience always pay out - they pay sensible values and do not cause ME too much hassle when dealing with the claim

I also go through a broker who makes his mark up but offers me 120% customer service every time I deal with them

I know alot of these other firms SAY they offer good CS but in my opinion there is nothing like dealing with a problem "face to face"

I ended up staying with NU Direct (had been with them for 7 years), at just over £800. However, my point was that some companies were quoting over £3000 and many wouldn't quote at all on a car worth £60k.

Coming up to renewal time for me, thought I'd try First Alternative despite the terrible TV advert. So much for insuring the drivers who have difficulty getting insurance, they wouldn't quote on an RS4 full stop - "we don't insure that sort of car". Huh?

Admiral £550 looks like this year's winner (33 y/o, 7year NCB, on-street parking in London)
You never really learn to swear until you learn to drive.

RS4 - as standard as the day it was born

Pretty much similar quote for standard from Admiral but as the car is modded then it would be £1,450.

Gone with Tesco just under £1,200 all mods declared.
No sig, no RS4 anymore

After frantic calling, got £1800 fully comp
24 y/o
5yrs protected no claims
Garaged overnight
No mods (although since realised brakes really AREN'T standard!! - better let them know!!)

... oh and 1 non fault claim cause some stupid B*TCH decided to drive into me on a round about, try to then drive off and came up uninsured!! Then did a runner to birmingham with no forwarding address. Had to pay off the claim myself (not worth it on the record) but apparently still have to declare it anyway.

She'll get hers one day I'm sure, maybe with a baseball bat!!

Will definitely try some of these other companies next year

BTW stay well clear of Directline Group (Tesco, privilege etc...) if you ever actually have to deal with them for an accident etc... forget about it. If they hadn't waited 6 MONTHS before actually trying to locate the woman who hit me, they might have got there before she moved!! And as for trying to get proof of no claims at the end, that took 5 weeks and my new insurers nearly cancelled the policy as it took so long!
