Jon,

I note from your original post at the top of this thread that you didn't want to turn it into a discussion forum.

Perhaps we (you, me or whoever although I'll take responsibility) can summrise the information when the thread expires together with contact telephone numbers which can then be pinned to the top of this forum. We can also include any suggested contacts if you have any.

What do you think?

Riz, think you've been done with insurance ! ?

I'm 23, insured with Egg on internet, £785 !!!!!!

Have S3, full NCD and WS postcode.

I was with Tesco, £850, then my points came off for drink drinking back in 1997, so changed to Egg when I didn't have to disclose them (only need to disclose points in last five years).

I recommend Tesco or Egg over internet, doesn't take too long to get quote, could save you money!

Does this sound like I work for Tesco or Egg, because I don't !!!

Think in Riz's case it is age related.

Why don't you give Egg or Tesco a calll Riz just to see what the premium is going to be.

So I'm not the youngest S3 owner at 23 on the site then?

Its easiser to get quote over internet if your cars not modified, and you get 5% discount too !!

Yes im 23 also but i have NO NCB!

Will have 1years NCB this November.
The problem with me was that most of the car insurance companies wouldnt take my company car history so i had to start from scratch

I hope that this time around i can get a good deal....

That is a shame - when I came out of the company car scheme insurers were only too pleased to accept a letter from the company. But I suppose I represent a lower risk - at least on paper

I received a call from the new owner of my S4 asking - where should I go to get insurance............. hope he's reading this thread.

Isn't it sensible to arrange insurance BEFORE you buy a car...especially that one!

Had an excellent result yesterday, renewed with firebond and got an excellent price. £920 fully comp, limited to 10k per year on my S2 v good when i have 6 ponts. But best bit about it was that i didnt need to use any no claims on it so can use my NCB to insure my runabout.

Also seem mod friendly and plan doing some mods in coming months and for RS2 spec wanted 1300, also good for me

Fully Comp, "protected" NCD, business use
Standard excesses

£710. Pretty good, I thought.

cheers, viffer
