Ok ill say it again in less words, its not hard, i came on the forum to look for specific help with fault codes/ warning lights/ symtoms of problems, not for opinions on specific tuners, maybe i should have made it a hyperthetical scenario. if i had said from the start, ( insert name)may have fucked my car up when i dont know if thats the case im sure they would be over the moon with that, hence why im looking for more opinions from people with expertise, if said tuner had messed up and tried to fob me off then i would have no hesitation in informing you, but like i said it doesnt seem right to mention names unless that can be shown to be the case, as i said ive had conflicting opinions offered so far
Clearly you dont have the knowledge to comment on either of the possible causes mentioned so why bother yourself

Oh it ain't no bother. You didn't mind mention that an Audi stealer was involved. Like I said, nothing was afoot, your post wasn't accusatory, mentioning the tuner in the first instance would bring out other experiences etc etc. What can you see wrong with saying Tuner X did this, Audi are now saying this?!? It gives a much clearly picture of the minds involved. You wanted opinions, you got them.

Ok fair enough we will just have to agree to disagree, an audi dealer isnt involved as you put it i just asked there opinion, it just didnt seem right to me to mention a small tuining companys name and plant any seed of doubt in anyones mind that may not be just.
As i said just looking for tec opinions on codes etc

This dovetails into this - there aren't many VAG tuning companies that can pull off a good stg2 on B7s... well not many that aren't based in Banbury.

Heres my opinion...

"Who" did it is very relevant.... There are 3 well known companies on this forum.. Unit 20, MRC and AMD.

We can discount Unit 20 as they are based in newcastle afaik and seeing as you are too, its unlikely you took a 300 mile trip to them unless you were foolish enough to actually use the in car sat nav provided with the B7 :)

That leaves AMD and MRC. AMD dont have a great rep here, some love em, some hate em. So had you said it was AMD you wouldve got a bunch of people telling you they suck balls and maybe some additional help in proving that right.

Now.. MRC... Everyone who uses this forum speaks well of these guys, they are also probably around 300 miles from you. If you had said MRC a number of things wouldve/couldve happened. Everyone telling you to trust them and shrug it off, one of their staff seeing this and possibly getting in touch and sorting it out or other possible positive outcomes in my mind. so i think if it was MRC (as i suspect) naming them wouldve been beneficial.

Any one else? No one really cares and you have probably gone to the wrong people, next time use one of those 3. Unit 20 as they are on your doorstep.

Also, as long as what you are stating is factual then there is no harm in sharing, everyone makes mistakes and everyone deserves the chance to put it right.

GL, hope you get it fixed.

God you boys are hard work!

What does it matter who did the work?

The guy has a car we all have as we're on the forum and he wants some help with our opinions.

If he starts naming names then if I were the place that did the remap I'd have the hump massively.

Howabout helping the guy out with advice and opinions and stop trying to find fault with who did the work when it maybe nothing to do with them?

Open season upon me now, one of the only women upon here to say what I think AND try and help people...

Maybe it was MRC?! ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh scandal..........who cares?

Maybe it was Hazy Days? oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh scandal...........who cares?

Guy wants our advice about what we think the problem is...........I care and am trying to help.

Must be my time of the month maybe....

Guy came on here cause he didn't believe what said tuner said was wrong with the car. He trust them to do the work but then didn't trust them when they said what was wrong with it after.
Now, who was the tuner who did a good job on your car? Think the deserve some praise.
I understand this is the b7 forum and some folks get stressed quickly.

No one else get YouTube feedback?

I am feeling special....

And a little like you have to be a man to be taken seriously on here.

Well, my RS4 is just as real as yours guys...and I take it to LeMans (not hitching a lift in my mates Porker...) so what is this forum all about then?

Maybe I shall post my touche again but then again I don;t see any of the narky GUYs in all their glory!

Well?

Its just banter, its a car forum, they are male dominated I'm afraid, don't blame us though!

Men have some sort on internal bartering system. You take some sh1t, you give some out, it all sort of evens out in the end, or others just think/work out you are a cock and choose to ignore you.

Don't take it personally Lady P, you are welcome here, we are just short on hugs.

Why does it matter who makes the car? Why aren't you driving a Skoda? Why don't you buy your lingerie from PriMark? How about you start buying your tampons from a Romanian street sweeper, they're good at stuff like that, right?

You got your tuners mixed up. Revolution are in Newcastle, Unit20 are on the opposite coast.

exactly this below, it matters a great deal who mapped it, some people can load a map in a carpark for a few quid and let you drive off to say MRC , who know their shi t so you could rule out the map etc plus they do fault diagnosis before map

I have a feeling sheppy might not mention the name of the place. It pi$$es me off when people come on a forum asking for help, and then when they can help others out they don't.
