S4 engine warning codes - help!

Hello.

I have an 2005 S4 - run brilliantly for all of its 140,000 miles.

Recently the engine warning light has come on - took to the local garage and they said that it was the following error codes:

p1347 and p1340 camshaft position sensor
p1423 secondary air injection system

Their view was that it would need to be taken to an Audi main dealer, that the engine would need to be taken out, and so it would be touch and go whether it was worth repairing

Anyone have an opinion ? Any other garages people recommend ? I live in Hertfordshire and the car still driving.

Don't take it to a dealer. Find a good independent specialist. Where are you based?

Depending where you are in Herts, the Russell Automotive Centre has gained a fairly good rep, based in Hendon, set up by an ex Audi tech iirc

They fitted a new dual mass flywheel, clutch and associated pipework for the previous owner of my B6 S4 very shortly before I bought it, and fitted the Milltek at the same time too
