Inlet manifold flap fault & fix

Post by barryrs » Sat Aug 10, 2013 3:22 pm

I had the inlet manifold flap fault pop up a month or so ago so had the fault cleared to see if it would come back which it did last week.

I had a think about what course of action i would take and was about to go for a full carbon clean that would have cost me £750 - £1000 via a specialist or a DIY job at £130 + my time (full weekends work).

But decided to give the cheapest option a quick go first as it was only going to cost me £20.

With that in mind i purchased 2 cans of the Wynn's direct injection 3 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251111445754? ... 1497.l2649

Today i gave it a try with me holding the revs and my brother spraying into both air intakes at once in accordance with the instructions and to my surprise on the way home the engine management light has gone out.

Im not going to say that this will be the end of the matter but it has clearly shown that the Wynn's product has had an effect and I might try a further treatment in a month or so.

All in all im both surprised & pleased with the product.   :thumb:
